Case Study 01 - Rebuilding Confidence

4-year old female Dobermann

The challenges: Nervousness in busy public environments, difficulty settling and heightened awareness of surroundings causing fear response and inability to focus on handler.

The approach: Implemented my Play for Performance approach including confidence building through multi-surface exploration and drive building. Gradual exposure training and neutrality work revolving around rewards and release cues.

The progress: Working-level engagement with the handler, increased confidence in very busy crowded environments (including loud performances, public transport, shops, concerts and restaurants) and achieving medical alert assistance dog status.
